NEWS BITES: MY TAKE ON HEADLINES - RED HEIFERS

I recently posted a headline pertaining to five red heifers arriving in Jerusalem! I knew this was significant, but I didn't realize just how significant this was for our era of history.

For those who aren't aware, the second temple was destroyed in 70AD (1,950 years ago) by the Romans about 40 years after Christ died. The Western Wall, in Jerusalem, is all that remains of that temple.

In 1948, the Jews were once again recognized as a nation, which was prophesied in Isaiah. Since then, they've been slowly returning back to Israel. Since 1967, there has been a movement in Israel to rebuild the temple. The main obstacle in their way is the Dome of the Rock currently occupying the Temple Mount.

As of this moment, the Temple Institute has already trained 500 young Jewish men - all verified as descendants from the tribe of Levi - as temple priests.

In August 2020, the Sanhedrin petitioned the government to blow the shofar on the Temple Mount for the Feast of Trumpets. This would have been the first time for them to do so since the temple was destroyed. At this point in history, the Jews are not recognized in the same way that the Muslims are, to be able to easily access the Temple Mount.

Also in August 2020, an ancient species of grapes which were used over 3000 years ago in the first temple, were found in Hebron. The wine made from the grapes was used in the original temple service. These grapes ceased to exist until a farmer near the ancient city of Hebron recreated this species of grape for use in the future third temple.

In February 2021, a rare rainbow appeared over the Temple Mount. Rainbows represent the covenant of God and the Jews interpreted this rainbow over the Temple Mount as a sign from God that the temple would be returning.

In October 2021, an unprecedented decision was reached by the Israeli court that allowed the Jews to pray on the Temple Mount.

In November 2021, Rabbis convened - with the protection of Israeli police - on the Temple Mount to implement biblical law. Basically discussing Jewish laws and how things would fall into place in a future temple. This is the first time they have been allowed to convene on the Temple Mount in almost 2,000 years.

In December of 2021, an article came out claiming that after 1600 years, the source of a rare blue dye found in Murex snails, had returned. This color was highly prices by ancient Mediterranean civilizations and it is mentioned 49 times in the Hebrew Bible. It was used in the clothing of the high priest, and is mandatory for use in the tapestries of the tabernacle and the ritual fringes worn by Jewish men.

In April of 2022, a Palestinian terrorist attacked 3 young jews and murdered them during the time of Passover. Palestinian terrorists began "fanning the flames" of religious violence because of their concern with how serious the Jews are becoming about restoring the holy of holies. The headline of the article claimed, "When blood spills on Passover, it's time to build the temple."

In May of 2022, Knesset member Itamar Ben-Gvir, one of the governmental leaders in Israel, entered the Temple Mount on Israel's 74th independence day and announced that the time had come to build the third temple, on the Temple Mount.

In September 2022, Ben Gurion International Airport announced plans to open a new "mega-terminal" in 2023 which will provide a railway infrastructure to bring international travelers directly from the airport to the Temple Mount.

Also in September 2022, five red heifers were flown from a farm in Texas to Jerusalem.

Red heifers are used primarily in ritual sacrifice for purification purposes. For this reason, God commands a perfect red heifer. There are strict regulations on what qualifies as "perfect". The heifer must be young, with ZERO blemishes. It can not have been used for labor or ever have been pregnant. It also must have no more than TWO non-red hairs on the entire calf. Which means that the rabbi's will continually inspect each and every single hair over the course of months in order to make certain that it is perfect.

According to Jewish tradition, there have only been nine red heifers sacrificed in the period extending from Moses to the destruction of the Second Temple. And it's believed that there will only be 10, total, ever used. The tenth will be sacrificed by the Messiah, himself, at the time of the rebuilding of the Temple.

According to the torah, the red heifer is sacrificed on the altar and its ashes mixed with sanctified water. Those who are impure due to touching a human corpse can be purified by having this water mixed with ashes sprinkled on them.

Today, all modern day Jews are assumed to be impure. While this doesn't affect their every day life,  anyone with this type of impurity is forbidden from entering the temple, including the priests. So a red heifer purification sacrifice is required before the reestablishment of the temple can even begin. Basically, until the red heifer is found, nothing can move forward on rebuilding the temple.

A farmer in Texas decided to breed red heifers in an attempt to make a pure breed for the temple. The problem is that in the United States, the government comes out when a new calf is born and tags it in the ear. This creates a blemish, which disqualifies the calf for use in ritual sacrifice. However, in 2020, when the world was in lock down, the government officials never visited to tag the calves. Therefore these calves have remained unblemished. All five were flown to Israel for inspection.

If one of these calves is proven to be pure and perfect, according to Torah standards, it would signify that they can begin building the temple.

The third temple has long been prophesied in scripture. The Jews believe that the building of the third temple will bring their Messiah. They also believe that it will unite the world together as one.

This is exactly what is prophesied in scripture when the Antichrist arrives on the scene. He is believe to unite the world and offer a false peace. Possibly even brokering a peace treaty that brings the Muslims and Jews together so that the third temple can be built on the Temple Mount, where the Muslims currently reside.

Unfortunately, scripture says that the Antichrist will then exalt himself, desecrate the temple, break the peace treaty, and then wage war on the saints.
