NEWS BITES: MY TAKE ON HEADLINES - EUPHRATES RIVER

The Euphrates river has made headlines recently for drying up. In fact, water across the globe is drying up.
Back in 2009, I was working in the ministry, and a close friend of mine came across an article even back then - claiming that the Euphrates River was beginning to dry up. That article kicked off my fascination with end-time prophesy. I had read about the four angels bound at the Euphrates, and this sent me on a journey into studying many other topics within end-time prophesy.

The Euphrates river drying up is prophesied in scripture, along with four angels who are bound there.

"The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East." Revelation 16:12

"It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, 'Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates." Revelation 9:14

Pastor Steven Anderson has a very unique take on these angels. He points out that in Genesis, after the banishment of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, God placed angels "turned every way" around the Tree of Life. This could be interpreted as four angels facing each of the four directions.

After the flood of Noah, there's no telling where the Tree of Life ended up, however, Genesis lists four different rivers associated with the garden of Eden. The Euphrates river is one of them. We're also told in Ezekiel 47 and Revelation 22 that the Tree of Life resides by these rivers.

Pastor Steven Anderson puts forth the question: is the Tree of Life still on planet earth being guarded by the four angels from Genesis? Could it be possible that it sunk during the flood of Noah and is trapped under the Euphrates river along with the four angels who were guarding it?

Pastor Perry Stone offers an alternate solution. In the Book of Daniel, there's a story where Daniel fasts and prays for 21 days waiting on an answer from the Lord. When an angel finally arrives with the answer from God, the angel claims to have been "delayed" because he had battled with the "Prince of Persia" for the entire three weeks. The Prince of Persia was a principality spirit. An angel of darkness.

Perry Stone puts forth the idea that there are principality spirits over the nations. He believes that as nations, throughout history, were conquered - the principality spirit residing over them, had to be bound somewhere.

The primary kingdoms residing close to the Euphrates River were the kingdoms of Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. So as these kingdoms were conquered, the spirits presiding over them were likely bound at the Euphrates River. These could be the angels which are loosed in the end days and bring forth the "kings from the East". A possible reference to the reunification of the kings that come together in support of the Antichrist in Revelation.

After all, the description of the beast rising from the sea (the Antichrist) in Revelation 13: has the body of a leopard (representing Greece), the feet of a bear (representing Persia), the mouth of a lion (representing Babylon), and seven-heads (representing Rome). All of which are given authority by the Dragon and given power to "wage war on God's holy people and to conquer them."

Similar to what we're told happens when the four angels are loosed from the Euphrates river in Revelation 9:14-15.
